Key Responsibilities Serve as the on-site EHS lead throughout the construction phase, representing the owner in safety oversight Ensure full compliance with Cal/OSHA, EPA, local, and corporate safety regulations Develop and implement site-specific EHS programs, policies, and procedures, including but not limited to: Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Confined Space Entry Fall Protection Create and manage the construction site’s EHS management system, including documentation workflows and tracking tools Conduct job hazard analyses (JHAs), risk assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analyses Lead daily safety meetings, contractor onboarding, and site-specific training Monitor contractor activities and ensure alignment with project safety expectations Track and report EHS performance metrics (leading/lagging indicators, TRIR, near misses, etc.) Support inspections, audits, and any regulatory interactions or permitting requirements Promote a proactive, solution-oriented safety culture across all project teams Compensation : 65-80/hr Requirements 10+ years of experience in EHS roles, with a strong background in construction safety Proven ability to design and implement EHS systems and programs from the ground up Demonstrated leadership on large capital projects ($100M+) or owner-representative safety roles Deep understanding of Cal/OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, and construction-specific regulations Strong communication skills with the ability to influence contractors and cross-functional stakeholders Life science, biotech, or pharmaceutical construction experience is a plus, but not required Proficiency with EHS software platforms (e.g., Intelex, Enablon, VelocityEHS, or similar) Strong documentation and technical writing skills (e.g., SOPs, training materials) Relevant certifications highly preferred: CSP, CIH, CHST, OSHA 30/510, or equivalent What We Offer Competitive Compensation: Attractive salary and comprehensive benefits package for full-time and part-time employees, including health, dental, vision, and life insurance, a 401(k) plan with employer match, a generous paid time off policy, and additional perks.
