We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Physician Recruiter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing, attracting, and hiring qualified physicians to meet the staffing needs of our healthcare organization.
Job Specifics
This opportunity will start off as a 13 week assignment with the potential to convert to a permanent position.
This is 100% onsite.
Hours are M-F; 9a to 5p
Pay Range is $40.00 to $45.00 per hour.
Duties
Develop and execute innovative, competitive recruitment strategies for physicians and APPs across a range of specialties and locations.
Build and maintain robust sourcing pipelines through outreach, passive candidate engagement, and partnerships with residency and fellowship programs, medical associations, and national platforms.
Conduct candidate screenings focused on skill alignment, cultural fit, and long-term potential within the UHS system.
Collaborate with departmental leadership to coordinate high-quality, well-organized interview experiences.
Present and negotiate employment offers, ensuring clarity around compensation, benefits, relocation, and organizational culture.
Provide candidates with personalized support throughout the hiring process, helping them integrate into the UHS family and the local community.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in the applicant tracking system (Workday) and contribute to recruitment dashboards and reports.
Partner with Medical Staff Services, Credentialing, Onboarding, and HR teams to ensure smooth transitions from offer to start.
Ensure compliance with all relevant hiring regulations (including J-1 Visa and H-1B processes) and internal policies.
Serve as a talent advisor to service line and operational leadership, supporting workforce planning and physician retention strategies.
Qualifications
Proficiency in sourcing, screening, and offer negotiation tailored to provider recruitment.
Deep understanding of clinical hiring cycles, especially for resident/fellow transitions.
Healthcare Industry Knowledge
Familiarity with provider credentialing, licensure, and regulatory considerations.
Awareness of immigration processes (e.g., J-1, H-1B) affecting provider hiring.
Relationship Building
Ability to build trust and rapport with candidates, providers, and internal stakeholders.
Commitment to providing a high-touch, personalized recruitment experience.
Capacity to anticipate future workforce needs and build aligned recruitment plans.
Strong data literacy and the ability to draw insights from metrics and dashboards.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent searches across clinical disciplines.
Flexibility to respond to urgent staffing needs and evolving organizational priorities.
Minimum Required:
Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
Minimum of three years of professional experience in recruitment or a closely related field.
Valid drivers license and ability to travel to client sites and recruiting events as needed.
Preferred:
Healthcare recruitment and/or onboarding experience.
Direct physician or APP recruitment experience.
Workday ATS experience.
Supervisory or team project coordination experience.
Certified Physician/Provider Recruitment Professional (CPRP) or equivalent.
PHR or SHRM-CP certification.
