Accounting Manager — Freshway Foods & Freshway Logistics, a leading fresh-cut produce processor and logistics provider, is seeking an experienced accounting leader to oversee core accounting operations and financial reporting in a dynamic, private equity-backed environment. This full-time, onsite role is based at our Sidney, Ohio headquarters and reports directly to the Divisional CFO.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close cycles, ensuring accurate financial statements and timely internal/external reporting
• Oversee daily accounting functions, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and operational accounting
• Manage ERP accounting systems, drive process improvements, and ensure data integrity
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, variance reports, and operational analyses to support executive decision-making
• Present financial insights and lead discussion in weekly operations meetings
• Maintain strong internal controls and support audit/compliance processes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver actionable financial insights
• Partner with leadership on reporting and analysis for private equity stakeholders
• Mentor, develop, and supervise accounting team members

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
• 5+ years of progressive accounting leadership, ideally in a private equity-backed or dynamic business environment
• Advanced ERP experience (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar)
• Strong technical GAAP knowledge and audit experience
• Proven success in operational close, financial reporting, and team management
