The Department of Financial Services is seeking candidates for the position of Human Resources Specialist 1 in Human Resources Management. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Leads the New York City new employee onboarding and conducts exit interviews; Maintains onboarding and offboarding trackers and provides analysis to Administration and Operations Leadership, as needed; Drafts and sends internal notifications for workstation moves and other logistical tasks; Coordinates and oversees agency payroll operations; Reviews and interprets control agency bulletins; Develops, implements, and monitors internal control procedures to ensure the timely submission of accurate payroll documents; Prepares payrolls and makes payroll determinations as required; Calculates and verifies salary calculations and related factors for agency employees; Assists with the management and administration of the Leave and Attendance Tracking System (LATS); Provides customer service to agency employees and department managers on onboarding, payroll, and LATS; and Performs other tasks and projects as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Trainee 1: A bachelor's or higher degree. Trainee 2: A bachelor's degree and one year of professional human resources experience. A Juris Doctor, master's or higher degree in a related field can substitute for one year of specialized experience. Journey Level: A bachelor's degree and two years of professional human resources experience. A Juris Doctor, master's or higher degree in a related field can substitute for one year of specialized experience. Salary: $56,655 (Trainee 1 Level SG-14) $63,180 (Trainee 2 Level SG-16) $67,119 $83,286 (Journey Level SG-18) Positions located within the New York City metropolitan area, as well as Suffolk, Nassau, Rockland, and Westchester Counties, are also eligible to receive an additional $4,000 annual downstate adjustment.
