Overview
The Oregon Department of Justice is seeking an experienced facilities project manager to join the Operations team as a Senior Project Manager (Project Manager 2) to lead high-impact projects across DOJ offices statewide. This role oversees complex relocation, construction, and maintenance initiatives that support DOJs mission and services for Oregonians. You will manage projects from initiation to close-out, including relocation and construction efforts, leases, and ongoing maintenance, guiding cross-functional teams to deliver on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities Manage and supervise facilities relocation and construction projects with high complexity and risk, along with ongoing facilities maintenance projects. Collaborate with branch managers, division administrators, and executives to identify relocation or right-sizing needs for DOJ offices. Consult with DAS Leasing and Planning & Construction, perform real estate research, analyze data, negotiate with landlords, and develop/manage the project plan across initiation, planning, execution, monitoring/controlling, and closing. Develop the project budget and allocate approved funding appropriately. Interface with public officials and act as the project voice to vendors, contractors, landlords, and citizens. Assist the Director of Facilities Management & Procurement and represent the department to DAS Enterprise Asset Management and other entities. Coordinate with internal and external facilities partners and IT experts, managing stakeholders and project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
Our finalists must meet one of the following: Five years of progressively responsible experience related to the class concept; or Four years of progressively responsible experience related to the class concept AND an Oregon Project Management Associate Certification; or Two years of progressively responsible experience related to the class concept AND a Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Management, Public Administration, or a closely related field; AND a Project Management Professional Certification.
Must hold a valid Oregon Drivers License and have an acceptable driving record. Knowledge of databases, MS Office, strong written and verbal communication skills, prioritization and deadline management. Project management experience and certification required. Understanding of building codes, construction standards, building infrastructure, and environmental control systems. Understanding of state procurement rules; procurement classes must be completed within the first 6 months of employment. Knowledge of AutoCAD and Smartsheet preferred. Knowledge of legislative processes, budget management principles, and resource estimation. Skills in time management, logical reasoning, performance measurement, facilitation, and personnel leadership. Ability to anticipate scenarios and maintain customer service and harmonious working relationships.
Working Conditions
The position requires frequent travel within the state, occasional weekend/evening work, site visits to construction areas, and ability to access hazardous areas. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. with or without accommodation. Whats In It For You
