Job description:

  • Deliver direct instruction in classroom, small group, and one-on-one settings.
  • Select, implement, and adjust teaching strategies to support student IEP goals.
  • Conduct assessments for eligibility, placement, and progress monitoring.
  • Develop and facilitate IEPs, organize and lead meetings, and document progress online.
  • Adapt and modify general education curriculum for special education students.
  • Provide supervision, training, and evaluations for paraeducators and classified staff.
  • Implement and monitor individual and classroom behavior management plans.
  • Maintain accurate lesson plans, data collection, and student progress reports.
  • Communicate with parents, staff, and students on academic, behavioral, and transition goals.
  • Ensure a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Washington teaching certificate with K12 Special Education endorsement (or eligibility).
  • Experience writing individualized curriculum and implementing IEPs.
  • Knowledge of behavior management program development and execution.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with parents, staff, and administrators.
  • Ability to use computer technology for documentation and data collection.
