The Activities Assistant at Meadows at Brookmeade plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents by planning, organizing, and facilitating engaging activities tailored to seniors in an assisted living and long-term care setting. This position requires a compassionate and cheerful individual who can foster a positive and inclusive environment, encouraging social interaction and mental stimulation among residents. The Activities Assistant collaborates closely with healthcare and support staff to ensure activities meet the physical and cognitive abilities of each resident, promoting overall well-being. By continuously seeking out new methods and principles, the assistant contributes to the development of innovative programs that address the evolving needs of the senior community. Ultimately, this role supports the mission of providing the highest level of professionalism and personal integrity in delivering meaningful experiences that enrich residents' daily lives.

Schedule is Monday-Friday 9 AM - 5 PM with Every Other Weekend + One Wednesday a month from 10 AM-6 PM

Minimum Qualifications: Experience working in an assisted living or long-term care setting. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with seniors, showing empathy and respect. Exemplary personal integrity and professionalism in all interactions. A cheerful disposition and a genuine passion for improving the lives of older adults. Preferred Qualifications:

Certification or training in recreational therapy or related fields. Experience developing and implementing activity programs for seniors with diverse needs. Knowledge of current best practices in senior care and activity facilitation. Ability to use technology to enhance activity programming and resident engagement. Additional language skills to communicate with a diverse resident population. Responsibilities:

Plan, coordinate, and lead a variety of recreational and therapeutic activities that cater to the interests and abilities of seniors in the assisted living and long-term care environment. Engage residents in social, physical, and cognitive activities to promote mental and emotional well-being. Collaborate with nursing and care staff to tailor activities that accommodate individual health conditions and mobility limitations. Maintain accurate records of participation and progress, and report observations to the care team to support personalized care plans. Continuously research and implement new activity methods and principles to enhance program effectiveness and resident satisfaction.
