SUMMARY

The Expeditor ensures on-time delivery of materials and components by actively tracking, coordinating, and expediting purchase orders through the supply chain. This role works closely with Sourcing, Planning, Production, and Logistics teams to prevent delays that could impact manufacturing operations, while maintaining high standards of communication and service to internal and external stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Collaborate with Sourcing, Sales, and Operations to resolve material availability issues and ensure timely delivery of parts and supplies.

Communicate delivery risks or disruptions and initiate corrective actions to avoid production delays. Take ownership of commitments and follow through to completion.

Monitor Syteline system for exceptions, late orders, and material shortages; proactively expedite overdue shipments or at-risk orders.

Execute workbench message exceptions. Create Purchase orders, update, and manage delivery schedules based on production and demand requirements. Maintain accurate data on open orders, lead times, and expected delivery dates.

Act as the primary liaison with suppliers for shipping schedules, expedited deliveries, and logistics coordination.

Work with suppliers to prioritize urgent orders and escalate critical delivery issues when necessary. Identify and propose alternate delivery options or substitute materials in collaboration with Sourcing or Planning.

Support resolution of shipping discrepancies in coordination with Receiving, Quality, and Finance.

Assist in troubleshooting PO, invoice, or delivery-related problems to ensure prompt resolution and accurate records.

Track and report delivery performance, flagging trends and root causes for late shipments or disruptions.

Support continuous improvement initiatives by proposing process changes that enhance visibility and responsiveness in the supply chain.

Manage item records and planning parameters (lead times, delivery dates, priorities) to reflect actual supplier performance.

Coordinate and implement logistics plans for product changes, new product introductions (NPI), and end-of-life transitions.

Assist in coordinating special projects or system implementations that affect supply chain responsiveness.

Provide accurate status updates to teams and escalate persistent issues to management or procurement.

QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required:

2+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or logistics-related roles. Strong familiarity with ERP systems (Syteline preferred) and material planning tools. Proven ability to manage and track multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment. High level of attention to detail, persistence, and follow-up. Strong written and verbal communication skills with both suppliers and internal departments. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Preferred:

APICS or similar supply chain certification. Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (medical, aerospace, etc.). Knowledge of PLM systems and engineering change processes.
