The Technology Support Specialist for Technology Services configures and maintains enterprise user-support services and software at Tulane, seeks out innovative new services and software to add to that which is already available, and instructs users and support staff on the use of these services and software, which includes coordinating support activities with team leaders and other staff members, and. working with other team members to supervise, train, and mentor student staff as they perform their assigned duties. The Technology Support Specialist be part of a high energy and growing technical customer service group and must be able to work both independently and within an interdisciplinary team. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to promptly and efficiently answer support related email, phone calls and other electronic communications Self-motivated, detail oriented and organized Ability to effectively resolve both hardware and software problems Proficient in Internet related protocols such as IP addressing, subnetting, and 802.11. Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills Excellent written and verbal communications skills with ability to communicate verbally and in writing with non-technical end-users and technical staff Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment Demonstrated commitment to customer service Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to new technologies Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Required Education and/or Experience High School Diploma/equivalent and nine (9) years experience working with server support environments and supporting lab/public computing facilities to include working with Windows or Macintosh operating systems and productivity applications, as well as Microsoft Office. OR Bachelor's degree and three (3) years experience working with server support environments and supporting lab/public computing facilities to include working with Windows or Macintosh operating systems and productivity applications as well as Microsoft Office Compensation Information This position is classified as "non-exempt, hourly" and is assigned to pay grade 24PREM.
