Overview

The Office of Human Resources at Saint Michael's College invites applications for a dynamic and experienced Senior HR Generalist with expertise in Employee Relations, HRIS, and Recruitment. This role will support the overall mission of the College by providing comprehensive human resources services, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of HR data, and strategically optimizing HR processes during a period of significant organizational evolution. The successful candidate will be proactive, solutions-oriented, and thrive in an environment of rapid change, demonstrating initiative in identifying and implementing innovative HRIS-driven solutions and talent management process improvements. This position requires a strong blend of HR generalist knowledge, technical HRIS proficiency, and the ability to build and sustain relationships to navigate complex situations. Base pay range

$68,000.00/yr - $73,000.00/yr Responsibilities

Employee Relations and Compliance:

Provide guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, performance management, disciplinary actions, and terminations; support conflict resolution, investigate when necessary, and ensure fairness and consistency in all interactions. Stay current with federal, state, and local employment laws, especially those impacting higher education, ensuring compliance in HR practices. Support unemployment requests and workers compensation claims; coordinate and support leave administration. HRIS Optimization:

Serve as the HRIS subject matter expert (Oracle), managing data input and ensuring data accuracy; oversee appointments, changes, separations, recruiting, onboarding, and other transactions with timely processing. Conduct audits to improve accuracy and efficiency; collaborate with technical support on integrations and troubleshooting. Generate reports and analytics for decision-making and regulatory compliance. Talent Management and Development:

Manage full-cycle recruitment, including job descriptions, applicant tracking, interviews, and selection; coordinate onboarding programs leveraging system functionality; advise on training needs and performance review processes. Compensation and Benefits:

Support compensation program administration, job analysis, description development, benchmarking for salary offers and equity reviews in consultation with management; provide information on benefits and open enrollment processes. Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. 47 years of HR experience with a focus on employee relations and generalist duties including recruitment. Knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment law, especially in higher education. Strong communication, professionalism, and analytical skills; ability to handle confidential information. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Preferred Qualifications

HR certifications such as SHRM-CP or PHR. Experience with higher education HRIS platforms (e.g., Ellucian Banner HR, Oracle). Experience in a unionized environment; visa and immigration processing experience. Application Instructions
