Overview
Assistant Property Manager Residential & Mixed-Use Portfolio. New York, NY. A boutique property management firm with a diverse portfolio of residential and mixed-use buildings is seeking a highly motivated Assistant Property Manager (APM). This hands-on role provides exposure to tenant relations, property operations, and compliance across a range of asset types. Key Responsibilities
Act as the first point of contact for tenants and residents across a portfolio of 1520 properties. Support Property Managers in day-to-day operations, including maintenance requests, vendor coordination, and board communications. Assist with building compliance requirements, lease administration, and regulatory filings. Prepare and maintain property records, contracts, and resident communications with accuracy and attention to detail. Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and building staff to ensure timely and efficient service. Draft and distribute tenant notices, meeting materials, and property reports. Support financial tasks such as invoice processing, expense tracking, and budget preparation. Candidate Profile
Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; working knowledge of accounting; ability to learn new property management software quickly (current platform: Skyline; exposure to Yardi, MRI, or AppFolio a plus). Professional Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, and conscientious self-starter with strong organizational skills. Background: Property management experience preferred; paralegal background considered a plus. Interpersonal Skills: Able to adapt to different Property Managers styles and work effectively in fast-paced environments. Strong written and verbal communication required. Qualifications
Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience. 2+ years of property management, real estate, legal support, or related experience. Ability to handle tenant interactions with professionalism and empathy. Base Salary: $75,000 $90,000, commensurate with experience. Competitive benefits package.
