Hardware Technician Job at The Midtown Group in Washington

DC Government Agency has a 1-year contract need (possibly longer) for a Hardware Technician. Must be US Citizen, able to pass background check, and available fulltime. This position reports on-site in Washington, DC 5 days per week.

This role is responsible for hardware/onsite escalations from the Help Desk. The proposed technician will be responsible for the following:
• Setting up computers using pre-built images.
• Installing the PDS image onto new computers
Migrating users from one computer to another
• Installing custom software for each customer.
• Delivering or shipping the computer to the customer
• Working with the customer after the computer arrives to finish the setup process.
• Troubleshoot hardware failures and coordinate with vendors for warranty repairs.
• Basic telephone troubleshooting (My phone won't turn on).
• Deliver and install toner in HP Printers
• Responsible for routing all escalated tickets to the appropriate group as necessary
• Install any necessary hardware at the user's location to include monitors, desktops/laptops, printers and peripherals
• Ensuring that our inventory and tracking system is up to date with any changes in signing in and signing out of equipment.

The following relevant certifications are preferred along with 2 years of relevant experience:
• A+ Certification
• Network + Certification
