Overview

The Legal Administrative Secretary is an experienced professional to join a litigation firm in a direct hire role. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legal secretarial work, particularly in litigation, and will be responsible for a variety of tasks to support attorneys and maintain efficient office operations.

Salary/Hourly Rate: $90k - $100k

Responsibilities

  • Summarize legal cases and prepare comprehensive reports for attorneys and clients.
  • Conduct thorough research, investigate facts, and provide detailed information to attorneys.
  • Draft, proofread, and prepare legal documents such as audits and pleadings.
  • Redact sensitive information from documents.
  • Efficiently prepare and file documents with the courts.
  • Expertly manage documents, including formatting using Styles, and creating Tables of Contents and Authorities.
  • Index and update pleadings and discovery binders.
  • Assist in trial preparation by preparing binders, indexing discovery, and preparing trial exhibits.
  • Organize exhibits, documents, briefs, and appendices.
  • Maintain a high volume of client files, both paper and electronic.
  • Track and update case databases with current status and relevant information.
  • Manage records, projects, and calendars to ensure smooth operations.
  • Handle calendar management, coordinate attorney-client meetings, and arrange travel for lawyers.

Required Experience/Skills

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of legal secretarial experience in a litigation firm.
  • Expertise in e-Filing.
  • Knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, and litigation documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Flexibility to work beyond regular hours on short notice.

Preferred Experience/Skills

  • Must have Litigation industry experience.
  • Must have paralegal experience.

Education

  • College degree preferred.
