Centralia College is currently seeking applicants for a part-time, adjunct instructor position in the American Sign Language courses.

Job Description:

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for teaching ASL I, ASL II, and ASL III depending on the quarter.
• Place student success at the center of their courses.
• Engage with students, faculty, staff, and administrators to create a community of learners.
• Seek opportunities for teaching and learning excellence.
• Respect the richness of diverse cultural values, beliefs and practices of others.
• Align course curriculum with program learning outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Deaf Studies or related field; OR
• CTE Certification AND minimum of two years' teaching experience.
• Extensive coursework or experience in American Sign Language.
• Education or experience with Deaf culture and deafness.
• Relevant teaching experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in ASL and/or Deaf Studies
• College teaching experience

Conditions of Employment: Centralia College faculty are represented by the Centralia College Federation of Teachers, Local No. 4469, AFT/AAFL-CIO.

Compensation: Current lecture/lab rates ($963.57 - $1,401.40 per credit)
