Delta Utilities Job Summary/Purpose Delta Utilities is seeking a Data Architect to establish a modern, cloud‑first IT landscape serving 580,000 natural gas customers across Louisiana and Mississippi. This role involves designing and maintaining an enterprise data architecture, optimizing our Oracle Utilities cloud suite (ERP, CCS, WACS, HCM, OFS), and integrating additional data sources. The Data Architect will develop scalable, secure data solutions aligned with our pillars of reliability, performance, cost efficiency, security, and operational effectiveness. Strong technical and communication skills are essential to align business, security, and operational goals. Accountabilities And Essential Functions Data Architecture Strategy & Design : Develop and maintain the enterprise data architecture and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives and guiding principles. Data Integration & Pipeline Development : Design and build reliable, fault-tolerant data pipelines connecting Oracle Utilities to the enterprise data platform, optimizing for low latency and high throughput. Data Governance & Security : Implement data governance using Microsoft Purview, enforce security principles, and ensure compliance with data quality standards. Performance & Reliability : Engineer data architecture for high performance, reliability, redundancy, and disaster recovery. Cost Optimization & Operational Efficiency : Optimize cloud resources, automate deployments, and maintain up-to-date documentation. Collaboration & Best Practices : Work with cross-functional teams, contribute to architecture reviews, and mentor junior staff. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred. 7+ years in data architecture or related roles, preferably in utilities, energy, or asset-intensive industries. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Experience with Microsoft Purview, Oracle Database, SQL, Azure Data platforms, data modeling, SaaS integrations, and data security practices. Certifications Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP‑203) Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL‑300) Additional certifications are a plus. Physical & Working Conditions Standard office equipment operation, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a typical office environment. Occasional overtime, emergency response, and work during outages may be required.
