The
Highway & Roads Market Sector Director
will be responsible for setting the vision for HDR’s strategy to expand and provide services to clients in the associated market sector. The primary responsibilities include market leadership and business development, staff development, and support to operations. Market Leadership and Business Development : The Market Sector Director will oversee the creation and implementation of strategic vision and direction for the market sector, serve as the Client Manager for selected key clients, and engage in selected projects as Principal-In-Charge. Oversee the creation and implementation of strategic vision and direction for the market sector. Serve as the Client Manager for selected key clients within the market sector. Engage in selected projects as Principal-In-Charge. Promote the marketing and delivery of all HDR services to clients within the market sector. Participate as a member of the Transportation Business Group Management Team. Work with Regional Business Group Directors on development and delivery of area goals and market sector initiatives. Staff Development : The Market Sector Director will lead an organization that will best perform within the marketplace to support our clients, win new work, and provide opportunities for staff growth and development. Assume responsibility for Global Market Sector P&L in coordination with local area managers. Work with business class directors to drive technical excellence and coordinate technical staff. Coordinate staffing/recruiting plans for key hires and assist local leadership as necessary. Support to Operations : The Market Sector Director will assist Regional Business Group Directors and area Business Group managers in the delivery of professional services for area projects within the market sector. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 12 years of industry experience, including leadership, and a strong understanding of the highway and roads market sector. A bachelor's degree in Engineering or a closely related field is required. Preferred Qualifications
Minimum 20 years of experience in planning/engineering in highway design or bridge design. Professional engineering license or equivalent. Current or past leadership positions within highway/road industry associations. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or closely related field. A minimum of 12 years of industry experience, including leadership. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
