Head Accountant

Yael Designs is an award-winning design house specializing in cutting edge, elegant, and expressive fine jewelry. The company produces diverse collections including fine fashion, bridal, and gemstone fashion jewelry. Role Description This is a full time on-site role for a Head Accountant located in San Francisco, CA. The Head Accountant will manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including managing financial transactions, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and budget preparation. Responsibilities Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely financial data Oversee QuickBooks entries, journal adjustments, and account reconciliations Process and manage payroll through ADP, including employee benefits and compliance Prepare and file quarterly taxes Generate profit and loss statements, cash flow statements, and other financial reports Perform credit card reconciliations and monthly consolidations Calculate and distribute commissions for sales representatives Manage end-of-year reporting for tax filings and audits Ensure compliance with all accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls Partner with leadership to provide financial insights and support business growth strategies Qualifications 10+ years of accounting experience (preferably in retail, or luxury goods) Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Suite Hands-on experience with payroll processing (ADP preferred) In-depth knowledge of tax preparation, including quarterly filings and year-end closeouts Strong background in accounts payable/receivable and credit card reconciliation Proven ability to prepare and analyze profit/loss statements and financial reports Strong attention to detail and accuracy Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Competitive salary starting at $80,000+ based on experience Paid time off, holidays, and sick leave Employee discounts on Yael Designs jewelry Being a part of a passionate and creative team that is obsessed with jewelry Seniority level : Mid-Senior level Employment type : Full-time Job function : Accounting/Auditing and Finance Industries : Apparel & Fashion #J-18808-Ljbffr
