Koniag Information Technology Services (KITS), a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an Operations Support Specialist II to support our Army customer in Huntsville, Alabama. This position requires on-site presence in Huntsville, Alabama.

The Operations Support Specialist II will be responsible for ensuring alignment of activities with Army priorities and efficient operations within the DCS G-2/6(CIO) directorate. This on-site role will focus on providing comprehensive support for planning, execution, and tracking of Army Materiel Command's (AMC) critical activities within the DCS G-2/6(CIO) directorate. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Army operations, task management, and policy analysis.
Principal responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Provide comprehensive support for planning, execution, and tracking of AMC's critical activities
Analyze Army orders (WARNORDs, EXORDs, OPORDs, FRAGOs) and translate them into actionable staff tasks
Identify relevant equities across Intelligence, Security, C4, IT/IM, and Cyber Defense
Support tools for task capture, tracking, and reporting
Coordinate order dissemination throughout the organization
Achieve 95% accuracy in identifying mission area equities within 24 hours of receipt
Ensure successful staffing and publication of 95% of orders within established timelines
Utilize the Army's Task Management Tool (TMT), Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Acrobat Professional
Manage tasks throughout their lifecycle - from initiation to completion
Maintain 95% accuracy of task status in TMT with weekly updates
Support the development of additional task management tools as directed
Support planning and execution of internal and external battle rhythm events
Maintain the DCS G-2/6(CIO) Integrated Operations Calendar (IOC) with 90% accuracy
Coordinate event logistics including scheduling, facilities, and support requirements
Proactively identify and escalate scheduling conflicts to leadership
Ensure 90% IOC accuracy (verified monthly)
Successfully coordinate at least 95% of scheduled events
Provide expertise in policies related to Intelligence, Security, C4, IT/IM, and Cyber Defense
Analyze DOD, HQDA, and Command policies for impact on the DCS G-2/6(CIO)
Support the development, maintenance, and annual refinement of a five-year strategy and annual plan
Assist in developing and maintaining an Annual Operating Cycle (AOC)
Prepare Planning Analysis and Recommendations for key decision forums
Support Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) and Business Case Analysis (BCA) processes
Deliver requested analysis within 3 business days
Support delivery of revised five-year strategy and annual plan by December 30th
Education and Experience:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Information Technology, or related field
3+ years of experience in military operations support, staff coordination, or related role
Experience with Army task management systems and processes
Background in military order analysis and processing
Knowledge of policy analysis and strategic planning
Required Skills and Competencies:
Strong understanding of Army operations and staff processes
Experience with Army orders (WARNORDs, EXORDs, OPORDs, FRAGOs)
Proficiency with Army's Task Management Tool (TMT)
Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Experience with Adobe Acrobat Professional
Knowledge of battle rhythm management and coordination
Ability to analyze and translate complex orders into actionable tasks
Strong organizational skills for event planning and coordination
Experience maintaining and managing operational calendars
Understanding of DOD, HQDA, and Command policies and directives
Knowledge of Intelligence, Security, C4, IT/IM, and Cyber Defense domains
Experience supporting strategic planning processes
Ability to prepare clear, concise analysis and recommendations
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Experience coordinating across organizational boundaries
Problem-solving skills and proactive approach to issue resolution
Ability to meet strict deadlines and performance metrics
Understanding of military planning processes and frameworks
Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearances
Willingness to work on-site in Huntsville, Alabama
Desired Skills and Competencies:
Master's degree in a relevant field
Military experience, particularly in staff operations
Experience supporting G-2/6 or CIO organizations
Knowledge of Army Materiel Command operations and structure
Background in strategic communications
Experience with Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) methodology
Knowledge of Business Case Analysis (BCA) development
Experience with decision briefing preparation and delivery
Background in project or program management
Understanding of enterprise IT governance processes
Experience supporting senior military or civilian leadership
Knowledge of Army planning and budgeting processes
Experience with performance metrics and reporting
Background in process improvement methodologies
Understanding of Army knowledge management practices
Experience with SharePoint site management
Familiarity with classified information handling procedures
