What we are looking for: Conti Civil is looking for an experienced Senior Estimator to lead our estimation efforts with a strategic approach to bidding and securing projects. The Senior Estimator will oversee the estimation process, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness in bids and fostering relationships with subcontractors and vendors.
Responsibilities:
All responsibilities of an Estimator, with enhanced focus on leadership in the development of pricing strategies and negotiation processes. Mentor and Supervise Estimators and junior staff in estimation techniques and strategies. Oversee the development of detailed project estimates, ensuring compliance with all specifications and drawings. Lead the evaluation of potential risks and the formulation of mitigation strategies. Facilitate communication and coordination between project teams, subcontractors, and vendors. Direct the subcontractor/material supplier selection process, ensuring a competitive and quality-focused bid list. Drive the project hand-off process, ensuring seamless transition from estimating to operations. Qualifications:
7+ years of relevant experience in heavy civil construction estimation, with proven leadership in managing complex projects. Advanced degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred. Demonstrated success in mentoring team members and improving estimation processes. Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills. Advanced knowledge of estimation software, project management tools, and MS Office Suite. What you need to know:
