Freelance Associate Technical Designer
to join our client's team. Salary/Hourly Rate: $27/hr - $30/hr Position Overview: The ideal candidate for the Freelance Associate Technical Designer role will be responsible for transforming design concepts into production-ready garments while ensuring exceptional quality, fit, and construction. This role will work closely with Designers, Pattern Makers, and production partners to support the successful execution of each collection. Responsibilities of the Freelance Associate Technical Designer:
Partner with the Design team to translate concepts into technical specifications.
Collaborate with the Technical Designer on knits, wovens, and additional product categories.
Prepare and maintain accurate flat sketches, spec sheets, and construction notes.
Communicate garment specifications and requirements to overseas manufacturers.
Participate in fit sessions, providing clear feedback to maintain design integrity and quality standards.
Identify and resolve technical challenges in partnership with cross-functional teams throughout development and production.
Required Experience/Skills for the Freelance Associate Technical Designer:
Proficiency in Excel and PLM systems.
1 - 2 years of experience as a Freelance Associate Technical Designer in apparel.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Freelance Associate Technical Designer:
Strong understanding of garment construction and technical design processes.
Experience collaborating with overseas vendors.
Familiarity with multiple product categories beyond knits and wovens.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree is required.
