Mentor A Promise (MAP) is a nonprofit dedicated to empowering youth through mentorship, personal development, and real-world education. Our programs equip young people with the tools, confidence, and guidance they need to thrive personally and professionally.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Volunteer Learning & Development Content Creator to design engaging and accessible resources that support the personal and academic growth of our mentees (K–12). This role will involve creating content that is age-appropriate, culturally relevant, and aligned with MAP’s mission of mentorship and equity. The ideal candidate is a creative educator and storyteller who is passionate about shaping meaningful learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Create engaging learning content for mentees, aligned with program goals and youth development best practices
Collaborate with instructional designers, mentors, and staff to ensure curriculum alignment
Develop materials in multiple formats (videos, slides, worksheets, microlearning modules, social media-ready content)
Ensure all resources are inclusive, culturally responsive, and accessible
Qualifications
Background in content creation, education, youth programming, or instructional design
Experience creating educational content for youth or young adults (preferred)
Strong writing, storytelling, and visual communication skills
Proficiency with tools such as Google Workspace
Creative, collaborative, and detail-oriented
Passion for youth development, mentorship, and educational equity
Commitment
Volunteer role, approximately 5–10 hours per week
Minimum 6-month commitment preferred
Weekly team meetings required (based on team availability)
Fully remote with flexible scheduling
