Job Summary:
The Disability Resource Center coordinates academic accommodations and services for eligible students with disabilities.
This is an intern-level position in the UWSP Disability Resource Center, in collaboration with the UWSP Center for Inclusive Teaching and Learning (CITL), for the 2025-26 school year. Primary duties include: Collaborate with instructional design staff and instructors to remediate course content (documents and media) to ensure screen-reader, text to voice, and captioning accessibility. Support the acquisition and production of alternate format textbooks for qualified students with disabilities Train DRC student clients on text to voice platforms and other assistive technology resources Support office reception operations as needed Minimum Qualifications:
Availability to work 15-20 hours per week Availability to work entire academic year (through mid-May 2026) 2.5 cumulative GPA Ability to work collaboratively with others to accomplish goals Demonstrated capability prioritizing tasks and monitoring completion Excellent oral and written communication skills Attention to detail and quality Ability to train/demonstrate functions and processes to others Ability to undergo extensive training on variety of PC and Mac applications; including Adobe Pro, assistive technology programs, and accommodation management platforms Preferred Qualifications
Junior or Senior Standing Demonstrated experiences (courses, employment, volunteerism) in computer science/networking, application development/support, graphic design, publishing, or audio/visual media Demonstrated experience with Adobe Pro or similar products, learning management systems, graphics/media platforms, or other specialty software
The starting wage is $13.25/hr with retention increases possible if student continues in position beyond May 2026.
