Associate Supply Technician - Per Diem

Summary:
This role involves delivering requested supplies and equipment from the central distribution area to various departments within the facility. All tasks are performed under the direct supervision of the Distribution Supervisor or designated Charge Technician.
Major Job Functions: Provide supplies to walk-in customers, ensuring proper documentation and accurate issuance using the MMIS system. Process tickets from MMIS Web requisitions, separate orders, and distribute supplies to departments as needed. Stage and deliver special order supplies and equipment, obtaining signatures to verify deliveries. Break down pallets and organize inventory, verifying item details such as manufacturer codes, expiration dates, and quantities. Operate manual or electric pallet jacks safely to transport supplies and equipment. Manage mailroom duties including sorting, processing, and delivering mail and packages. Perform routine cleaning in designated areas such as receiving docks, inventory locations, and mailrooms. Communicate effectively with purchasing, vendors, and requestors regarding inbound supply issues. Utilize documentation and spreadsheets to support performance improvement processes. Receive and verify Prime Vendor EDI transmissions into the MMIS system, ensuring accuracy of quantities, descriptions, and backorders. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas before and after shifts. Conduct scheduled rounds to deliver supplies and equipment from Central Supply. Assemble specialty kits for restocking units and perform stat runs as necessary. Other duties as assigned.
Education and Formal Training:
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Fluency in English (reading, writing, and speaking) is essential.
Experience:
Previous hospital experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong interpersonal skills to interact with colleagues across departments, excellent customer service, effective oral communication, and critical thinking abilities. Flexibility to adapt to daily operational and patient care changes is important. Ability to multitask and maintain discretion with confidential information is required. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions clearly.
Physical Requirements:
Must have adequate vision and hearing. The role requires stamina for continuous walking and standing. Ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds and push carts weighing up to 100 pounds is necessary.
