This position ensures that all designated areas, including offices, restrooms, break rooms, and common spaces, are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized according to established standards. The janitor will work collaboratively with the union team to uphold workplace hygiene, contributing to the overall health and productivity of employees and visitors. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Previous janitorial or custodial experience preferred but not required. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately. Physical capability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods, and bending or reaching. Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as required. Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in a unionized environment. Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and proper handling procedures. Basic knowledge of workplace safety standards and personal protective equipment (PPE). Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and supervisors. Certification in OSHA or other relevant safety training. Responsibilities:

Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal across all assigned areas. Sanitize restrooms, kitchens, and high-touch surfaces to prevent the spread of germs and maintain health standards. Operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently, including floor scrubbers, buffers, and carpet cleaners. Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap, and toilet paper to ensure availability for all employees and visitors. Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply shortages to the appropriate personnel promptly. Collaborate with union representatives and team members to adhere to work schedules, safety regulations, and union agreements. Assist with special cleaning projects or events as needed to support facility operations.
