About the Role:
The Union Janitor plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment within the Centerline PDC facility. This position ensures that all designated areas are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized according to established standards, contributing to the overall health and safety of employees and visitors. The janitor will work collaboratively with the consumer support services team to uphold facility hygiene, which directly impacts operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Attention to detail and adherence to union guidelines are essential to meet both regulatory and organizational expectations. Ultimately, the role supports the smooth functioning of the facility by providing a consistently clean and orderly environment.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work preferred but not required. Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety procedures. Physical capability to perform cleaning tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Willingness to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a unionized environment. Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and equipment used in commercial facilities. Basic knowledge of occupational health and safety standards. Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and supervisors. Demonstrated reliability and strong work ethic. Responsibilities:
Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal across all assigned areas. Sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and common areas to maintain high standards of hygiene and safety. Operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning chemicals safely and effectively in compliance with safety protocols. Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards observed during cleaning duties to the appropriate personnel. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure cleaning schedules and union requirements are met consistently.
