Coordinator Position

South Florida poverty community is seeking a highly motivated, experienced professional with a proven track record to fill the position of Grant Coordinator.
The Grant Coordinator facilitates effective communication and coordination between programmatic and fiscal staff, serving as the primary liaison to bridge program deliverables with financial reporting requirements. The Grant Coordinator supports Legal Services grants management process by monitoring staff time allocations, reconciling case funding codes, and coordinating the subgrantee fiscal reporting requirements. The Grant Coordinator ensures that both programmatic outcomes and fiscal accountability are fully aligned with funder expectations and organizational goals.
Essential functions and responsibilities
Program-Finance Liaison
Serves as the primary liaison between programmatic staff and fiscal staff, ensuring consistent communication and alignment between deliverables and financial reporting. Translates program activities into fiscal terms and fiscal requirements into actionable program steps. Proactively identifies and resolves discrepancies between financial and programmatic reporting. Identifies opportunities and documents decision-making during cross-departmental meetings regarding staff time distribution guidance, budget modifications, expenditures, and reporting. Financial Tracking and Reporting
Runs and analyzes staff time spending reports to ensure accurate allocation of effort across grant-funded activities. Reviews case funding codes for accuracy and reconciles with deliverables, budgets, and expenditures. Reviews time entries to ensure compliance with LSGMI and funder requirements. Submits invoices prepared by the Finance Department to funders and coordinates response to any funder questions or requests for additional information pertaining to fiscal issues. Monitors grant expenditures and timelines to ensure alignment with approved budgets and reporting requirements. Grantee and Subrecipient Oversight
Prepares, collects, and saves reports and supporting documentation from grantees and subrecipients. Provides technical assistance to grantees regarding reporting requirements, templates, and deadlines. Grant Compliance and Administration
Supports the Grants Team in tracking and maintaining grant deliverables, deadlines, and compliance requirements. Supports program staff in understanding allowable costs, reporting expectations, and funding guidelines. Assists in preparing internal and external reports to ensure accuracy and timeliness.. Supports internal audits, funder audits, and monitoring visits as needed. Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in public administration, nonprofit management, or related field required preferred. Experience in grant administration, project management or financial reporting, preferred.
Skills
Strong proficiency with Excel and Planner. Proficiency in collecting, validating, and reconciling data. Familiarity with nonprofit finance, including fund accounting, timekeeping systems, and budget monitoring. Knowledge of federal, state, and private grant compliance requirements. Demonstrated ability to analyze staff time allocation, reconcile case funding codes, and ensure accurate expenditure tracking. Strong attention to detail with proven ability to identify discrepancies and resolve reporting inconsistencies. Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines, deliverables, and reporting requirements simultaneously. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to translate programmatic activities into fiscal terms and vice versa. Skilled in facilitating cross-departmental collaboration and building consensus between teams.
