The
Commissioning Agent
will be an integral part of managing commissioning projects and working directly with clients, contractors, and design teams.
This position is both on-site in our Richardson, TX office as well as at field-based project sites.
Responsibilities
Project Management:
Provide overall project management to commissioning projects including scope, schedules, deliverables, and budget.
Documentation Management:
Develop commissioning plans, test procedures, and final reports.
Commissioning Oversight:
Lead commissioning activities for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and control systems.
Project Document Review:
Review design documents and submittals to ensure systems alignment with project intent.
Troubleshooting:
Oversee functional performance testing, troubleshooting, and issue resolution. Coordinate with contractors and engineers to resolve deficiencies.
Communication:
Serve as primary point of contact with owners, design teams, and contractors through all phases of projects.
Compliance & Standards:
Verify conformance with applicable codes, standards, and sustainability regulations.
Post-Occupancy Support:
Conduct seasonal and warranty-phase reviews to confirm long-term system performance.
Team Guidance:
Mentor junior staff members and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or in a construction-related field.
Commissioning certification (CxA, BCxP, or equivalent) preferred.
5+ years of experience in commissioning, building system design, or related field. Experience in healthcare, higher education, or mission critical facilities helpful.
2+ years of hands-on project management experience, including scheduling, reporting, and client communication.
Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and control systems.
Excellent organizational, problem solving, and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with commissioning software a plus.
Ability for daytime travel to job sites as required.
