specializing in workers compensation coverage for the

Senior Lost Time Claims Adjuster , you will serve as a critical point of contact for injured employees, employers, and agency partners. This role involves handling complex lost time claims, including those requiring investigation, medical treatment oversight, surgery coordination, litigation management, and settlement negotiation. Key Responsibilities
Promptly investigate assigned claims to determine compensability and ensure timely administration of benefits.
Make
three-point contact
(employer, employee, medical provider) within 24 business hours of claim assignment.
Establish and monitor reserves, reviewing and adjusting as needed throughout the life of the claim.
Accurately review and process medical bills.
Provide timely updates and maintain consistent communication with employers, employees, medical providers, and other stakeholders.
Direct and manage vendors (nurse case managers, attorneys, etc.) to support claim progression.
Document claim updates, including reserve adjustments, significant medical developments, and litigation activity.
Review impairment ratings and negotiate claim settlements.
Collaborate with attorneys to manage litigation, filings, and hearings.
Ensure compliance by obtaining and documenting all necessary forms as required by state statute.
Anticipate challenges that may impact claim outcomes and mitigate exposure.
Assist teammates by covering incoming claims, mail, calls, and emails as needed.
Facilitate
subrogation proceedings
to maximize recovery on third-party claims.
Partner with agency representatives to provide claim updates, participate in claim reviews, and support strong policyholder relationships.
Ensure claims are closed efficiently and accurately with all bills paid.
Qualifications
810 years of experience
handling lost time workers compensation claims.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to look beyond the obvious and identify effective solutions.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, both internally and externally.
Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
Proactive, results-driven approach to claims handling.
Willingness to mentor peers and contribute to team collaboration.
Commitment to embodying and supporting organizational core values.
