Role purpose
This role supports the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Advanced Mission Programs (AMP) and collaborates across the FBM Program Office and Product Directorates to mature technologies and advanced capabilities across the FBM Flight System to meet evolving customer needs in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities Directs all phases of programs from inception through completion. Responsible for cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs.
Participates in negotiation of contracts and contract changes. Coordinates preparation of proposals, plans, budgets, statements of work, specifications, and financial terms/conditions of contracts.
Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading reviews with the customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.
Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test.
Develops new business or expands the product line with the customer. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules.
Identifies program problems and obtains solutions such as resource allocations or changes to contractual specifications.
Directs the work of employees assigned to the program across technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.
Location note: Although some teleworking is supported, the preferred candidate will be located near the Lockheed Martin Space facility in Washington, DC and may be required to work in the office as needed.
Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college, with a degree in a STEM field or equivalent experience/combined education.
8+ years of prior experience in project/program management or project leadership.
Experience with contract technical documentation, baseline, planning factors and processes.
Experience with customer and supplier interface.
U.S. citizenship and current ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. SECRET clearance, with ability to obtain TS clearance, and ability to pass drug and background checks to access classified information.
Desired Skills Master’s degree in Engineering or Operations (or equivalent).
US Strategic Systems Experience.
Demonstrated capabilities in managing complex programs or projects.
Familiarity with the Navy SSP/SPF customer and knowledge of the FBM program and processes.
Experience with Project Management (PM), Control Account Management (CAM), Finance & Business Operations (F&BO), and/or proposal work.
Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment and with technical team members to understand all aspects of the product and program performance.
Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation).
Understanding of CRAD contracts and risk/opportunity management processes.
Program/project experience across multiple programs, lines of business, and disciplines; ability to prioritize and deploy resources.
Active Top Secret security clearance.
Ideal candidate profile
Self-starter who can interface with multi-disciplinary Integrated Project Teams to solve problems with minimal supervision. Must be organized, flexible, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
