Role scope and expectations: As a key member of Coinbase’s S2P Team, the Senior Sourcing Manager will oversee the process of procuring real estate and related services. This role focuses on developing and executing a comprehensive sourcing strategy to acquire, lease, and manage a real estate portfolio. The role is oriented toward high-level planning, negotiation, and strategic relationship-building with brokers, developers, and other partners, rather than day-to-day transaction management. The role requires leadership of internal teams, vendor relationships, and financial risk mitigation, aligned with Coinbase values. What you’ll be doing

Team Leadership: Ensure the real estate portfolio strategy aligns with Coinbase's business needs, growth objectives, and financial targets. Strategic Leadership: Advise senior leadership on real estate matters including office location, space strategy, and portfolio optimization. Represent Coinbase in high-stakes real estate negotiations with landlords, brokers, and developers. Vendor Management: Manage relationships with commercial real estate brokers, property management firms, and other vendors; ensure partnerships meet financial goals and compliance standards. Serve as escalation point for lease disputes and operational challenges. Risk Mitigation: Develop and deploy a portfolio-wide risk mitigation strategy ensuring compliance with legal, financial, and regulatory requirements. Partner with Legal, Finance, and Information Security for due diligence on real estate transactions. Stakeholder Communication: Clearly communicate lease terms and portfolio strategy to senior leadership; coordinate with Finance, Legal, HR, and IT for seamless execution of leases, acquisitions, and facility management. Continuous Improvement: Drive adoption of best-in-class real estate sourcing and portfolio management practices; foster innovation through tools and technologies for market analysis and space utilization. What we look for in you (requirements)

Education & Background: Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. Minimum 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing and project management, including 5 years in commercial real estate. Skills & Expertise: Proven ability to manage and negotiate complex real estate leases and multi-million dollar vendor contracts; strong quantitative and qualitative analysis, including financial modeling and market analysis; experience leading large-scale real estate projects with cross-functional teams; expertise in real estate portfolio management software and lease administration. Leadership & Communication: Advanced negotiation skills to influence cross-functional teams; exceptional verbal and written communication with experience delivering data-driven recommendations to executive leadership. Nice to haves: Familiarity with sourcing and spend management technologies; training or experience in commercial real estate law, lease review, and contract negotiation; experience tailoring real estate strategies to a remote-first company; crypto or fintech space experience.
