Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (RN) Jobs – Locum Tenens Opportunity in Ottumwa, Iowa

Job Details:

• Location: Ottumwa, IA 52501
• Setting: Acute Rehabilitation Unit (13 beds)
• Employment Type: Locum Tenens (Travel RN Contract)
• Start Date: October 20, 2025
• End Date: January 19, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week (option for 48 hours)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Call Requirement: None
• Patient Ratio: 1 RN to 6 patients
• Float Requirement: May float to MedSurg as needed
• Electronic Health Record: Meditech
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1800-$1840

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Iowa RN license
• Minimum 1 year of acute care nursing experience
• BLS certification (required)
• CPI/HWC certification (required)
• Mandatory reporter certification (Child and Adult)
• Recent titers (MMR, Hep B, Varicella, TB) within last 12 months
• 10-panel drug screening (including opiates)
• Background checks (county and state) fully cleared prior to start
• Travel RN experience preferred but not required
• MedSurg or LTAC experience accepted

RN Responsibilities:

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based care to adult and geriatric patients in the acute rehab unit
• Manage neuro, trauma, burn, and wound care cases, including gait training and strengthening
• Utilize lift equipment and wound vacs as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech EHR
• Float to MedSurg unit as required
• Maintain compliance with all facility and Iowa state nursing regulations
