ICU RN Job Details
- Location: Kingwood, West Virginia (26537)
- Healthcare Setting: Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 2 beds
- Position Type: Travel Nurse / Locum Tenens RN
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: September 22, 2025
- End Date: December 22, 2025
- Shift: Night shifts, 4x12-hour (7:00pm – 7:30am), weekdays and every other weekend
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1680 - $1730
- Orientation: 16 hours (includes modules)
- Scrubs: Wine and/or burgundy (not provided)
- EMR System: CPSI
ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU RN experience in a hospital setting
- Active West Virginia or Compact State RN license (pending license considered)
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (American Heart Association required)
- CCRN certification preferred for critical care nurses
- At least 2 Manager or Charge Nurse references within the past 2 years
- Permanent address must be over 100 miles from facility (75-100 miles considered case-by-case)
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
ICU RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the ICU
- Float to other hospital units as needed
- Utilize skills in conscious sedation, telemetry, and ventilator management
- Assist with procedures: arterial line management, chest tube insertion/removal, central/PICC line care, and wound management
- Administer blood products, emergency medications, and titrate cardiac/vasoactive drips
- Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, social services)
- Maintain infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions
- Document patient care using CPSI electronic medical records (EMR) system
