Oncology RN Job Details

• Location: Louisville, KY 40207
• Position Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Registered Nurse
• Specialty Units: Oncology, Urology, Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg)
• Shift: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1950-$2000
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
• Scheduling: Self-scheduling; weekend coverage every third weekend
• Unit Size: 24 beds; average daily census of 20 patients

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky or compact state
• Minimum 2 years of recent inpatient oncology nursing experience
• BLS certification
• ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Card
• ACLS certification (preferred)
• Ability to pass advanced dysrhythmia (EKG) competency exam
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record (preferred)
• Two professional references
• COVID-19 vaccination required

Oncology RN Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy and biotherapy in accordance with ONS guidelines
• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients with cancer diagnoses
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips using portable cardiac monitors
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Float to other hospital units as needed
• Document patient care accurately in the EPIC charting system
• Participate in orientation and annual training modules
