Orthopedic Registered Nurse (RN) Jobs – Locum Tenens Opportunity in San Antonio, TX

Estimated Weekly Salary: $1460 - $1500 per week

Orthopedic RN Job Details:

• Location: San Antonio, TX 78229 (South Texas Medical Center)
• Healthcare Setting: Orthopedic Unit (3NW)
• Employment Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Nursing Contract
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: September 22, 2025
• End Date: December 22, 2025
• Hours per Week: 36 (Guaranteed)
• Shift: 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), rotating weekends, 2 major holidays
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Floating: Required as needed per Methodist policy

Orthopedic Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Texas RN license (no temporary licenses)
• BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical RN experience
• Basic wound care skills
• Ability to float to other clinical units as needed
• Orthopedic nursing experience preferred
• Experience with Meditech electronic health records preferred

Orthopedic RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care in the orthopedic unit
• Assist with total knee and hip replacements, incision and drainage (I&D), and pre/post-operative procedures
• Accurately document patient care using Meditech
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Float to other nursing units as required by facility policy
• Maintain professional appearance: navy scrub top and pants, navy or white scrub jacket
• Comply with hospital policies regarding hair, nails, tattoos, and piercings
