Position Overview
The Property Staff Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial transactions and reporting for various property accounts. This role ensures accuracy in financial reporting, compliance with GAAP, and provides support for budgeting and financial analysis activities related to property management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain financial statements and reports for property accounts in accordance with GAAP.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts and property accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts for property management operations.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends and variances in property performance.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in the preparation of tax returns as necessary.
  • Collaborate with property management teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
  • Utilize financial software (such as RealPage) to streamline accounting processes and reporting.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a property management setting.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting and GAAP principles.
  • Proficiency in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
  • Experience with financial reconciliation and budgeting activities.
  • Advanced Excel skills for financial modeling and reporting.
  • Knowledge of tax compliance and auditing processes.
  • CPA certification is a plus but not required.
  • Familiarity with property management software, such as RealPage, is preferred.
