The Property Staff Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial transactions and reporting for various property accounts. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain financial statements and reports for property accounts in accordance with GAAP.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts and property accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts for property management operations.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends and variances in property performance.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in the preparation of tax returns as necessary.
- Collaborate with property management teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
- Utilize financial software (such as RealPage) to streamline accounting processes and reporting.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a property management setting.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting and GAAP principles.
- Proficiency in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Experience with financial reconciliation and budgeting activities.
- Advanced Excel skills for financial modeling and reporting.
- Knowledge of tax compliance and auditing processes.
- CPA certification is a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with property management software, such as RealPage, is preferred.
