Travel Radiology Tech - $2,200 per week in Garden City, KS

Job Title: Radiology Technologist Profession: Radiology Tech Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of one year post-certification experience required License: Licensed Radiology Technologist required for anyone working in a Kansas facility Certifications: ARRT-R Required: Registered Technologist, Radiology - R.T. (R) (ARRT); BLS American Heart Association Required Must-Have: Knowledgeable in all aspects of Diagnostic Imaging, including Surgery and Trauma as required Description: Provide quality patient care to all patients within the medical imaging department. Perform high-quality images and exams on patients while maintaining sensitivity to patient needs. Follow standards of safe radiation practice. Demonstrate leadership abilities and serve as a role model for other technologists. Act as a clinical resource to students, staff technologists, and other healthcare personnel. Ensure current standards of practice for the unit are met. Perform diagnostic radiology procedures while ensuring safety for self, patients, and all individuals. Practice all rules and regulations pertaining to radiation safety, keeping exposure "as low as reasonably achievable" (ALARA). Produce quality images in a complete, accurate, and timely manner. Prepare patients for exams. Provide information and instructions to patients and/or families regarding procedures and respond to their physical and emotional needs. Assist patients during exams and position them as needed. Observe patients and equipment during procedures, reporting/documenting unusual occurrences and recording patients' conditions. Facilitate smooth patient flow, scheduling, and optimal use of equipment and resources. Communicate in writing and verbally with all physicians, imaging personnel, students, and hospital staff to facilitate continuity of care. Assist with patient transport as needed. Perform IV starts and contrast administration as required. As assigned by management, perform technologist duties of other registered modalities. Provide on-call coverage outside of standard scheduled hours per department and/or facility policy. Correctly input charges and required data for procedures and supplies utilized during exams. Complete required hospital/medical imaging paperwork for each exam performed. Prepare rooms, equipment, and exam materials needed for exams. Maintain technical operation of equipment and notify service when necessary. Notify supervisors of equipment problems and log service calls/problems per departmental procedure. Maintain a clean work area for employees and patients. Maintain quality checks and equipment maintenance documentation per departmental procedures. Be proactive in problem identification and follow up with appropriate management personnel. Establish a motivating, constructive rapport with physicians, staff, and system departments. Maintain high skill levels through ongoing education/meeting attendance and share information with staff. Assist in the clinical and/or didactic education of student radiographers and other healthcare professionals in teaching institutions. Show interest in teaching students, encouraging them to perform examinations and providing feedback on radiographs. Participate in clinical training and provide support to students, staff technologists, and other healthcare personnel. Provide guidance for the development of clinical skills, explain equipment and departmental procedures, and support hospital policies/procedures. Engage in professional activities through involvement in organizations, journal clubs, online education, etc. Demonstrate a positive attitude toward the profession. Actively participate in departmental/hospital quality and process improvement initiatives. Floating may be required to any location within sixty (60) miles of the original assignment location. Float assignments may include duties outside of original assignment job requirements in accordance with company policy.
