Certifications: Current BLS/HCP certification Must-Have: - Certification must be obtained within one (1) year of entrance into the position. - One (1) year as a registered technologist in a medical imaging field employing cross-sectional imaging techniques. - Knowledge of computers, medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology. - Knowledge of MRI safety operations and capabilities. Description: Performs clinical diagnostic magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and other procedures associated with the production of MRI images. Provides patient care during procedures. Typical physical demands include standing, sitting, walking, stooping/bending, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking, and lifting/carrying usual weights of 1 pound up to 30 pounds. Requires pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds and horizontal lift/carry up to 50 pounds. Involves repetitive arm and wrist movement consistent with computer/mouse usage. Occasional demands may include kneeling, squatting, twisting body, and reaching above, at, and below shoulder. Involves repetitive arm/hand motions. Typical working conditions may involve exposure to noise from MRI machines. Workers are subjected to a magnetic field and must avoid pacemakers and neurostimulators. There is minimal exposure to cryogens, nitrogen, and helium, used as a coolant for the MRI machine. Must be able to adjust schedule for on-call coverage that may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
