General Purpose

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets customers, follows company standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. Tasks may vary by business needs and may include additional duties as assigned.

Essential Functions

  • Safety is the number one priority; practice safe behaviors on the sales floor.
  • Maintain a high level of awareness to create a safe shopping environment; keep egress clear and report unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
  • Treat customers and associates with respect and courtesy; assist customers and answer questions in a polite and knowledgeable manner.
  • Greet customers with eye contact, smiles, and friendly service throughout the store; process transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Provide prompt responses to customer service needs and escalate to Store Leadership when necessary.
  • Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
  • Perform cleaning tasks and replenish supplies to maintain store cleanliness and merchandising standards.
  • Maintain professional appearance and adhere to the dress code.
  • Assist with sizing, recovery, and merchandise on the floor to maintain neat, organized presentation.
  • Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor following monthly presentation guidelines.
  • Understand Loss Prevention programs and merchandise protection standards.
  • Safeguard confidential information, cash, and merchandise; uphold integrity in all interactions.
  • Follow MOS policies, including identification, processing, and escalation of MOS merchandise.
  • Adhere to all policies for cash, checks, credit cards, refunds, voids, and offline procedures; maintain accuracy with tenders.
  • Demonstrate urgency to maximize productivity and follow store best practices.

Qualifications and Special Skills

Effective communication with customers, associates, and leadership in a friendly, respectful manner. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations used in retail.

Physical Requirements / ADA

  • Ability to use store equipment including registers and devices as required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move for up to 100% of the shift; occasional bending, squatting, climbing, carrying, reaching, and stooping.
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds (varies by assignment); stockroom roles may require lifting up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to use janitorial equipment and other cleaning tools.

Compensation

The base pay range for this role is $17.50 - $18.00 per hour. The range is influenced by factors including but not limited to experience, skills, qualifications, education, certifications, seniority, and location. This range is one component of the total compensation package.
