Job Title: HR Assistant
Status: Non-Exempt, Entry Level
Reports to: HR Coordinator

Role Purpose
The HR Assistant provides day-to-day administrative support to the Human Resources team, ensuring smooth, accurate, and timely handling of employee-related processes. This role is highly detail-oriented, task-focused, and requires a friendly, professional demeanor when interacting with potential candidates, new hires, and current staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Assist with candidate prescreening and scheduling interviews, support onboarding by preparing new hire paperwork, employee setup in HRIS, and conducting orientation checklists, and ensure employee records are complete, accurate, and compliant.
  • Employee Relations & Support: Serve as a first point of contact for routine employee questions about policies, benefits, and procedures, direct more complex or sensitive issues to the HR Coordinator or upper management, and promote a professional and approachable HR presence to staff and applicants.
  • Compliance & Administration: Review timecards for accuracy and assist with payroll corrections, support audits and compliance reviews with meticulous attention to detail, and maintain confidential records and uphold all HR and company policies.
  • General HR & Office Support: Assist in maintaining HR files, employee communications, and compliance postings, navigate between multiple platforms and systems to update information, and support HR Coordinator and leadership with additional projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Experience in an office setting (1+ year preferred).
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills; detail-oriented.
  • Proficient with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Gmail, Calendar).
  • Ability to navigate HRIS or business platforms with ease (training provided).
  • Friendly, professional demeanor with strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Working Conditions

Office-based role with occasional interaction with drivers, staff, and candidates. Standard Monday–Friday hours, with flexibility as business needs require.
