Overview

The Production Manager plays a key role in overseeing daily plant operations, ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality production of windows and doors. This position is designed not only to manage production performance today but also to prepare the right candidate for future leadership opportunities in manufacturing and operations. The Production Manager will work closely with the Director of Operations, gaining broad exposure across production, supply chain, quality, and engineering, while strengthening leadership skills essential for career growth.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Champion a “safety-first” culture by modeling safe practices and enforcing OSHA standards.
  • Drive a leadership culture based on trust and respect, motivating the team to achieve objectives.
  • Absolute ownership & accountability of the production environment
  • Responsible for labor management and production schedule completion
  • Coordinate and execute the daily production schedule, enabling labor and delivery performance.
  • Manage production team via effective communication and relentless follow-up ensuring execution.
  • Ensure efficient use of labor, materials, and equipment to maximize productivity to plan.
  • Monitor and adjust workflow as needed to minimize downtime and bottlenecks.
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to ensure high levels of employee engagement and accountability.
  • Foster a positive workplace culture focused on teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, customer specifications, and company procedures.
  • Collaborate with Quality Control to address defects, implement corrective actions, and drive improvements.
  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as productivity, scrap, on-time delivery, and labor efficiency and on-time and complete.
  • Work closely with engineering, maintenance, supply chain, and logistics teams to support production goals.
  • Coordinate with HR on workforce planning, training programs, and employee relations

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Production Manager is responsible for the daily supervision of a team of supervisors, supervising up to 200 employees.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws.

Summary Minimum Education & Experience Required

  • Problem solver and active sound decision maker.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business Management, or related field.
  • Collaborative leader – driving firm, fair and consistent mentality.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to manage and execute to set goals & KPI’s.
  • MS 365 suite complete proficiency
  • Proven ability to build, develop and motivate teamwork environment with the ability to set clear goals for self and others.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee must be able to work inside, work protracted or irregular hours, work around machines with moving parts and moving objects. This position will work closely with others in addition to working alone.
  • While on the factory floor, the Production Manager may be exposed to excessive or intermittent noise and dust. Equipment (machines, tools, devices) used in performing only the essential functions include manufacturing machines and equipment, hand tools, computer and related equipment, calculator, copier, fax machine, and possibly a forklift and automobile.
