  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract (13-week assignment)
  • Shift: Day Shift, 5x8-Hour (08:00 - 16:30)
  • Hours per Week: 40 (full-time nursing job)
  • Start Date: 10/21/2025
  • End Date: 01/20/2026
  • Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
  • Estimated Weekly Salary: $2050 - $2100
  • Floating: Required within hospital or to affiliate hospitals in the Lafayette area

Hospice Registered Nurse Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (must be valid prior to start date)
  • Minimum 1.5 years of recent hospice nursing or clinical experience
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
  • Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
  • Ability to work at least 2 out of 3 major holidays during the contract
  • Willingness to float to other units or affiliate hospitals as needed
  • Two recent supervisor references required
  • Non-local candidates only (Indiana residents not eligible for this travel nursing assignment)

Hospice RN Responsibilities

  • Function as a Hospice Case Manager RN, delivering compassionate, patient-centered care in home settings
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for hospice patients
  • Educate and support patients and families on end-of-life care, pain management, and symptom control
  • Administer medications and manage PCA pumps, peripheral IVs, central lines, and ports
  • Utilize pain assessment tools and implement both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including social services, pharmacy, and interpretation services
  • Document patient care accurately and communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members
  • Float to other hospice units or affiliate hospitals in the Lafayette, IN area as required
