Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to adult patients with mental health diagnoses, including schizophrenia, dementia, bipolar disorder, psychosis, dual diagnosis, depression, anxiety disorders, and medical detox needs
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Monitor and document patient progress using Cerner EHR
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for patients and staff
• Participate in crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed
• Support patients throughout all stages of behavioral health treatment

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state (NC RN license)
• Minimum 1 year of recent psychiatric nursing or behavioral health RN experience
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) or HWC (Handle With Care) certification required (training available)
• Strong communication, clinical, and teamwork skills

• Location: Hickory, NC 28601 (North Carolina behavioral health jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: Adult Behavioral Health Hospital (multiple units)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (October 27, 2025 – January 26, 2026)
• Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1410–$1450 per week
• Electronic Health Record: Cerner
• Scrub Color: Any color
