The Opportunity We are currently seeking a
Managing
Regulatory Scientist
for our
Chemical Regulation and Food Safety
Practice to be based in our
Washington, DC
or
Sacramento, CA
office. In this role you will work as part of a team providing a high level of project management, Federal and State regulatory and technical expertise, and project support to the consultants in the Chemical Regulation and Food Safety Practice.
Responsibilities
Providing Federal and State pesticide registration strategy and regulatory support
Interacting directly with clients and regulators
Managing and tracking client projects, project deliverables, invoices, and budgets
Providing regulatory and technical review and quality control support for Federal and State pesticide related projects
Synthesizing technical and regulatory information for clients and regulators
Drafting, editing, and proofreading complex regulatory and technical reports
Participating in developing business and marketing to clients
Qualifications
Masters or Ph.D. degree in a science related field
Five (5) or more years of EPA FIFRA/FFDCA pesticide regulatory experience. This position requires knowledge, solid understanding, and practical experience with U.S. EPA FIFRA/FFDCA regulations and State regulations for pesticides and chemicals
Consulting experience preferred (but not required)
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to independently prepare, edit, and proofread technical and regulatory documents
Must be detail oriented, able to work independently, and manage time effectively
Strong ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects with competing deadlines
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
Experience with project management, budget tracking, and invoicing a plus
Exposure to sensitive information will necessitate considerable use of tact, diplomacy, discretion, and judgment
Entrepreneurial spirit is a plus

Compensation Salary Range: USD $127,000.00 - USD $156,000.00 /Yr.
Salary and benefits are described in the Life@Exponent and Careers pages; total compensation includes base salary, annual bonus, and 401(k) employer contribution of 7% of base salary for Manager level and above.
Base salary is dependent on experience and capabilities, assessed during the interview process.
