Job Summary: The Senior Manager – Wholesale L&H is responsible for leading the strategic planning, development, implementation, and support of enterprise-level software applications that serve the agency functions within the organization. This role ensures the effective alignment of technology solutions with business needs, driving operational excellence and innovation across the department. This individual will manage a team of business analysts/data analysts and will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, IT leadership, and external vendors to ensure timely delivery of high-quality software solutions. Responsibilities
Develop and execute the enterprise application strategy in alignment with corporate and departmental goals. Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements or replacements to current systems. Lead, mentor, and develop a cross-functional team of professionals, fostering a high-performance culture. Oversee the planning and execution of multiple concurrent application projects, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and on-scope delivery. Drive Agile or hybrid project methodologies within the team. Serve as the primary liaison between business units and IT for application-related initiatives. Gather and prioritize business requirements, translating them into functional and technical specifications. Facilitate regular communication with executive sponsors and stakeholders to provide updates and manage expectations. Ensure all applications meet regulatory, security, and data governance standards. Collaborate with internal audit, legal, and compliance teams to ensure proper controls are in place. Maintain application documentation, disaster recovery plans, and support processes. Manage relationships with third-party software vendors and service providers. Education and Experience
Experience with insurance agency applications. High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint). Bachelor\'s degree in IT, Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance. 5-10 years of insurance management system (AMS) management experience. Experience with insurance agency management system implementation and optimization. Professional, organized, and strong communicator; background in Accounting, Finance, Planning or Operational Leadership preferred. Familiarity with Applied Epic agency management system; Life and Health licensed (preferred). Management experience preferred. Other Qualifications
Able to work independently with a high degree of interaction with team members. Collaborative, motivated, and able to contribute to a positive team environment. Self-motivated, able to manage a diverse remote staff and meet deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication; attentive listening and problem-solving with minimal assistance. Excellent time management, prioritization, and attention to detail. Ability to multitask, work independently, and handle sensitive information with discretion.
