This role will serve as the liaison between Accounting and Marketing. The Senior Accountant – Ad Fund & Loyalty Program will oversee the financial accounting, reporting, and compliance activities associated with Wingstop’s Advertising Fund and customer loyalty program. This role ensures accurate revenue recognition, liability tracking, and reconciliation of loyalty transactions while partnering with cross-functional teams to support business insights and strategic initiatives. The Senior Accountant will also play a key role in enhancing processes, ensuring GAAP compliance, and supporting audits. Responsibilities Lead the accounting for the advertising fund, including revenue recognition, deferred revenue, expense timing and accounting for loyalty program. Prepare monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals related to marketing and loyalty program activity. Ensure compliance with US GAAP, internal policies, and relevant accounting standards. Monitor program activity to identify risks, anomalies, or areas requiring corrective action. Collaborate with Marketing, IT, Finance, and Operations teams to understand various program structures, promotions, and system changes that impact accounting. Provide financial insights on loyalty program performance, redemption trends, and program liability. Assist in scenario modeling and program enhancements from an accounting and compliance perspective. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reconciliations, and reporting accuracy. Partner with technology teams to automate data feeds, reconciliations, and reporting related to loyalty activity. Implement best practices in accounting and reporting. What you’ll need Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA preferred. 3–6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including exposure to revenue recognition or loyalty program accounting. Strong knowledge of US GAAP and experience applying ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition). Experience in public accounting (Big 4 or regional firm) and/or corporate accounting preferred. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and Excel/financial systems skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
