Overview
Raytheon’s Receiver, Exciter, and Back-End Processing (REBEP) Department focuses on receiver, exciter, beam steering, and signal processing technology. The department is responsible for the design, development, integration, and support to production builds, and lifecycle support of Raytheon products. We have an opportunity for a Senior Principal RF Design Engineer to utilize their academic background and professional experience in RF / Microwave system theory and design to help develop the next generation of Raytheon’s Radar Receiver, Exciter, and Transmitter products. Onsite; 100% on-site and based in Marlborough, MA (MA801: Marlborough, MA 1001 Boston Post Road Building 2, Marlborough, MA, 01752 USA) or Tewksbury, MA. What You Will Do
Architecture development, requirements analysis, hardware design, hands-on testing of components, circuit card assemblies, and subsystems. Design and development of transmitters, receivers, or exciters. Design and optimization of RF circuits – either chains of components (receiver, exciter, etc.) or individual parts (filters, limiters, couplers, etc.). Work with interdisciplinary teams – power, digital, mechanical, etc. Schematic capture and RF routing. Technical support during the transition to production and support to production activities. Cost and schedule management plus proposal writing. This 1st shift position will be 100% on-site and based in either Tewksbury, MA or Marlborough, MA. Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum 10 years’ of prior work experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field with minimum 7 years’ prior work experience, unless prohibited by local laws/regulations. Experience with Microwave/RF system, subsystem and/or component analysis, design and/or test. Experience with electromagnetic simulation tools (e.g., HFSS, ADS, CST, and/or Mentor Graphics’ Xpedition) and analytical tools (e.g., MATLAB). The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Experience working in design, from concept through production. Experience translating system performance and operation specifications into hardware requirements, design, and test specifications. Background in designing for manufacturability, producibility, and cost constraints, which includes yield and margin analysis. Problem-solving skills with ability to proactively identify alternate solutions to overcome difficult technical challenges. Experience in technical writing and oral presentations. Technical background in any of the following areas: Cascade analysis and/or frequency planning; Filter design and fabrication; Circuit card assembly and fabrication; High speed data converter test / characterization; Low Noise RF source design and test experience. The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD.
