The Weaver National Tax Office is looking for a Manager or Senior Manager with a specialization in tax controversy to join our team. This role involves representing individuals and businesses in tax disputes with taxing authorities and developing strategies for successful resolutions at all stages of controversy, including penalty abatement, exams, appeals, and collections. You will manage multiple matters, interpret tax laws, develop supporting positions, and prepare written responses to taxing authorities. You will work closely with firm leadership and contribute to business development, firm administration, and the development and management of teams. Responsibilities

Develop strategies for successful resolutions at all stages of tax controversy (penalty abatement, audits, appeals, collections). Manage multiple matters and interpret tax laws to develop supporting positions. Prepare written responses to taxing authorities. Collaborate with firm leadership on business development, firm administration, and team management/mentorship. Engage in practice development and contribute to the growth of the National Tax Office. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field CPA or JD 5+ years of tax controversy experience Proven ability to manage, mentor, and develop staff Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Accounting Strong relationship management and practice development skills Ability to attract and service new clients and expand services to existing clients Compensation and Benefits

Compensation range is approximately $125,000 to $290,000 for the California, Maryland, New Jersey, and New York Metropolitan areas. Actual compensation depends on experience, skills, certifications, and location.
