The Facultative Energy & Construction Underwriter will be responsible for supporting the Facultative Desk Energy Product Leader in the day to day underwriting and management of the Energy & Construction portfolio written through the Miami FAC Desk. This includes developing business strategy, managing broker and distribution channels, budgeting and business planning, portfolio analytics, staff development and training, and ensuring compliance with internal policies to achieve a sustainable and profitable regional portfolio. This role covers operational and underwriting responsibilities within the Latin American region. Operational Management

Ensure governance, systems and controls, and regulatory compliance are established and maintained for the Energy division. Collaborate with Claims, Finance, Operational, Accounting, Legal, and Actuarial support teams to support portfolio management. Promote a culture of collaboration, diversity and inclusion. Prepare key performance indicators, including monitoring submission flow by distribution channels and analysis of losses/claims behavior. Assist in the preparation of presentations for internal and external stakeholders as required. Maintain updated underwriting files according to corporate guidelines. Underwriting

Source and qualify opportunities, underwrite, manage, and service a profitable book of assumed FAC Energy business in Latin America. Develop, manage, and execute a pipeline of new business opportunities. Manage existing and develop new producer and client relationships throughout the region. Collaborate with other FAC Desk products to cross-sell the company’s offerings. Work with engineering and technical specialists to identify and understand risk exposures. Negotiate policy terms and coverages aligned with company directives. Use underwriter authority in accordance with our risk appetite and strategy. Support Product Leader with development and execution of the LAC Energy underwriting strategy within global guardrails, including monitoring loss ratios and P&L performance. Drive underwriting excellence by adhering to risk appetite, lines, standards and guidelines, and ensuring rating and pricing adequacy. Develop strong broker and client relationships to profitably grow the portfolio. Provide superior customer service to brokers and clients. What We’re Looking For

University degree; Engineering degree preferred. Seasoned candidates in Energy underwriting with Latin America experience, including Power Generation, Oil & Petrochemical, Mining in Operation, and Construction (CAR/EAR). Strong understanding of risk selection, exposure analysis, CAT perils, and interpretation of engineering surveys. Strong understanding of actuarial methods for pricing risk, claims and reserving. Advanced knowledge of local and global policy forms, manuscript wordings, and industry-specific clauses. Knowledge of industry technology standards, emerging issues and market conditions. Established LAC FAC broker network with relationships with reinsurance intermediaries in the region. Knowledge of LAC FAC market placement dynamics and distribution channels. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with business acumen. Strong influencing and communication skills; ability to work collaboratively in a matrix structure across a wide geography. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; fluency in English and Spanish. EEO and Benefits
