Responsibilities

Provide best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests; respond to guest questions/concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at GameStop; prioritize guests over tasks and demonstrate that commitment by circulating throughout the store. Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Promptly and accurately process guest purchases/return transactions using Point-of-Sale (POS) system; ensure correct changes, provide receipts, and deliver top-notch guest service. Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; answer phone calls promptly, courteously, and professionally; escalate customer issues and complaints to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, e.g., new title reservations program, trade-in program, and Pro Rewards guest loyalty program. Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations for store associates and training store associates in all aspects of their job responsibilities. Observe associate performance, provide timely feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed; ensure alignment with company and store guest service expectations. Provide recognition and feedback to store associates; regularly input written feedback into the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure associates have completed onboarding, job training, and compliance training prior to opening or closing shifts; ensure knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethics. Schedule store associates to meet guidelines, manage breaks and meals, and supervise staffing to maintain high levels of guest service. Approve payroll, enter paid time off, and verify payment for time worked. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per company guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in proper working order. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders and ship daily. Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages at closing or end of shift as appropriate; communicate concerns to the Store Manager. Support the store in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative duties. Perform store inventory counts, restock merchandise, and ensure products are represented and organized on the sales floor. Balance and reconcile daily transaction totals in the POS system; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits as required. Verify shipments for discrepancies; conduct inventories and communicate issues to the Store Manager/District Manager. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls accurately; label boxes with packing lists. Maintain guest and associate safety; report injuries per company guidelines. Maintain store records/files and ensure manuals are up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct. Adhere to opening and closing procedures. Qualifications

Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor's degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred. At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Clear verbal and written communication; English proficiency; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment; work independently and in a team. Attend to performance expectations, attendance, safety, and respectful workplace. Operate POS system; basic math and alphabetizing skills. Complete required paperwork and follow instructions; execute financial tasks per policy. Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days/week availability. Handle pressure and adapt to changes; problem-solve creatively. Reliable, trustworthy, and able to work independently or with others. Stand and move throughout the store; lift up to 30 lbs; climb ladders as needed. Onboarding knowledge of military ranks and insignia where applicable.
