Overview The City of Baltimore’s Department of Finance is seeking an Agency IT Specialist IV to collaborate with multiple agencies and departments to elicit, document, and prioritize business requirements and translate them into functional specifications. This position will also facilitate workshops, interviews, and other methods with subject matter experts gathering input and gaining consensus on project requirements. This is a lead position that will oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT systems, including servers, networks, and cloud infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and uptime. This position will report directly to the Finance Project Manager for the Department of Finance.
THIS IS A NON-CIVIL SERVICE POSITION
Salary Salary Range:
$85,660.00 - $136,935.00 annually
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
A Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering or related discipline from an accredited college or university
Experience:
Four years of application programming, systems design, hierarchical/relational database management and/or GIS experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Previous IT Work Lead Experience:
Preferred.
Previous IT government experience:
Preferred.
Equivalency Notes:
An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledges, Skills, And Abilities: leading requirements gathering processes and developing solutions with stakeholders.
Knowledge of report writing fundamentals including design, development, and testing of financial Workday reports and dashboards to support business decision-making and operations.
Ability to work closely with stakeholders, including agency users, information technology security and integration teams, to deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable Workday reporting solutions that meet stakeholder needs.
Knowledge of ticket management systems, with experience managing the ticket process in JIRA (SolarWinds / Charm). Experience preparing and presenting detailed documentation to the Change Control Board to obtain approval for production deployment.
Experience managing software release updates, including coordinating with stakeholders and conducting testing on release modifications.
Additional Information Background Check Eligible candidates under final consideration for appointment to positions identified as positions of trust will be required to complete authorization for a Criminal Background Check and/or Fingerprint must be successfully completed.
Probation:
All persons, including current City employees, selected for this position must complete a mandatory six-month probation.
